What is Sri Yantra?
The Sri Yantra (or Sri Chakra) is a sacred geometric diagram used in the Shri Vidya school of Hindu tantra. It consists of nine interlocking triangles that surround and radiate out from a central point (bindu).
Origin & History
One of the oldest known yantras, appearing in Vedic texts thousands of years old. It is the geometric representation of the goddess Lalita Tripura Sundari and is considered the mother of all yantras.
Spiritual Meaning
The nine triangles represent the cosmos and the human body. The four upward-pointing triangles represent Shiva (masculine), and the five downward-pointing triangles represent Shakti (feminine). Their union represents the creation of the universe.
