What is Merkaba?
The Merkaba (also spelled Merkabah) is a three-dimensional Star of David formed by two interlocking tetrahedra spinning in opposite directions. In mystical traditions it represents the energy field surrounding the human body.
Origin & History
The word Merkaba appears in Ezekiel's vision in the Hebrew Bible. In ancient Egypt, Mer means light, Ka means spirit, and Ba means body — suggesting the spirit-body surrounded by counter-rotating fields of light.
Spiritual Meaning
The Merkaba is said to be the vehicle through which the soul travels between dimensions. Activating one's personal Merkaba through meditation is believed to enable spiritual ascension and healing.
Healing Associations
Merkaba meditation involves visualising spinning geometric fields around the body to activate dormant energy centres. Practitioners believe it balances masculine and feminine energies and clears energetic blockages.
